The ongoing Formula 1 season will be remembered for its early driver market moves and shocking accusations. However, it has currently forced many teams to think and finalize their line-up for the 2025 season. Meanwhile, Haas is also looking for a driver as Nicko Hulkenberg is set to leave the team in 2025.

The team is looking for many possible replacements including the promotion of Oliver Bearman to a full-time driver. Speaking about it team principal Ayao Komastu said that it would be an easy decision if the team opts for Bearman. It's worth noting that from the next round in Imola Bearman is going to participate in at least six races for Haas this year.

"It doesn't change because you can't as a team, you've got an objective for that weekend, and you have a clear idea of what you need to get out from FP1, FP2, and FP3 to prepare for your quality and race. So that approach doesn't change", says Komastu.

"He is got the speed", says Komastu

Further speaking about 18-year-old Bearman's prospects Komastu said that he has some great speed. "But it's moreover does the driver understand that objective? Can he play a strong part in fulfilling that kind of objective?", he said while speaking with Racing365.com.

"If this young driver is only interested in, let's say, going flat out everywhere showing the world how quick he is - that's not a mature approach. But Ollie is not like that. What Ollie's shown in Mexico and then Abu Dhabi, he's got the speed", he further added.

Earlier this season, the 18-year-old had an unexpected race debut for Ferrari when he filled in for Carlos Sainz, who was unwell, in Saudi Arabia. Bearman also had opportunities with Haas last year, participating in two FP1 sessions. His performances caught Haas's attention then, and these upcoming FP1 sessions are viewed as another opportunity for him to enhance his chances of securing a full-time drive for the following year.
