The Miami Grand Prix 2024 has been eventful. Since the start from Friday’s red-flagged practice session to Saturday’s sprint race there has been a lot of controversy in Florida. The latest on the list is a car crash between Lando Norris and Lance Stroll.

The sprint race of the Miami Grand Prix was marred by a turbulent start, with Lando Norris forced to retire early due to a collision. The incident occurred right after the race began at Turn 1, a notorious spot known for its propensity for accidents due to tight racing.

However, the most significant collision involved Lance Stroll of Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso of Alpine, and veteran driver Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes. Stroll's aggressive manoeuvre led to contact with Alonso, setting off a chain reaction of collisions that also involved Hamilton and Norris.

This intense tussle resulted in Norris being pushed off the track, causing significant damage to his car and necessitating premature retirements for both him and Stroll. In response to the wreckage and to prioritize safety, race officials swiftly deployed the Safety Car.

However, no one has been penalized for the crash but Lando Norris will face an investigation as he crossed the live track on foot breaking the golden rule of Formula 1. The race director called him after the sprint session to have a chat.

Despite the chaotic start of the sprint race Red Bull racing’s Max Verstappen continued his dominance. He beat Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez to clinch his fourth consecutive sprint victory. This is also his second consecutive sprint win at Miami.

Meanwhile, RB’s Daniel Ricciardo finished fourth and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz clinched fifth position. Nico Hulkenberg, Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasley were among others to finish in the top 10.
