On Thursday, New York Knicks beat Philadelphia 76ers by 118-115 with the help of Jalen Brunson as he scored 41 points and took New York Knicks into the semi-final. Now New York Knicks will face the Indiana Pacers in the semi-final from the Eastern Conference. Earlier on Thursday, the Indiana Pacers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks to book their spot in the semi-final. New York Knicks have advanced to the second round in consecutive years for the first time since the 1992-2000 postseason.

Philadelphia 76ers didn’t look in the game in the first quarter as the New York Knicks took a big lead of 22 points but before halftime, Philadelphia 76ers cut the gap of the lead. They eventually regained control with a nine-point lead late in the fourth quarter, only for the Sixers to equalise again with 35 seconds remaining.

For the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid scored 39 points and 13 rebounds, while his teammate Buddy Hield scored 20 points and Tyrese Maxey got only 17 points in the first half. On the other hand, Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo, saved New York Knicks from a first-half breakdown that almost forced a Game 7. DiVincenzo finished with 23 points, while Hart had 16.

Joel Embiid also had a strong game, scoring 39 points on 12-of-25 shooting, while adding 13 rebounds, two assists, and five turnovers. He fouled out at the last minute. The 76ers haven't advanced past the second round since 2001, and their starters can take most of the responsibility for this one. Tobias Harris, in his final year of a five-year, $180 million contract, went scoreless.

After the game, Knicks supporters assembled along New York's tunnel, holding their phones high to catch footage of their favourite team heading to the locker room. The semi-final Game 1 between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers will take place on 7th May in Madison Square Garden.
