The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has almost reached the end of the League stages where most teams are looking comfortable to qualify for the playoffs. Moreover, before the IPL 2024 started, a lot of money was spent on a few well-known players in the pool during the auction. This season, some underrated players have performed admirably, but some players haven't quite lived up to their exorbitant price tags.

They could be in danger of receiving a significant wage drop in the following auction when they are released if they do not get their act together. Moreover, some players were traded from different teams with the expectation of good performance, however, they have failed massively.

Let's take a look at the three most unsuccessful trades of the IPL 2024 season:

3. Cameron Green

Cameron Green's trade from Mumbai Indians to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was nothing short of a surprise for the fans of both teams. While Green's venture with the men in blue was quite good, he failed to perform with RCB. He played a total of 8 matches and scored only 194 runs at an average of 24.25. The stats prove the kind of season Green has had with RCB. However, he still has a few matches left where he can prove his worth before heading to the IPL 2025 mega auction.

2. Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya's trade was one of the most debatable trades of the season as he was traded from Gujarat Titans (GT) to Mumbai Indians (MI). While the MI fans weren't quite happy with the trade, the management showed full confidence in the all-rounder who had just returned from a severe injury. However, Hardik's performance has been quite mediocre in the season as he has scored 197 runs in 10 innings at an average of 21.88 at a strike rate of 150.38. Undoubtedly, this trade was the most unsuccessful trade of all time.

1. Devdutt Padikkal

At a whopping amount of INR 7.75 crore, Devdutt Padikkal went from RR to LSG in the IPL 2024. However, his performance took a detour as he scored just 38 runs in six matches. Due to his performance, he was also dropped from the team several times. Padikkal was supposed to be the backbone of the LSG team as he played extremely well during his campaign with the RR team. Unfortunately, he failed to fire in this season and hence, this trade proved to be a failure.
