Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were bowled out for 169 after being put into bat first by Mumbai Indians' skipper Hardik Pandya in the 51st Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match. Venkatesh Iyer who has a great record against Mumbai Indians put them to the sword yet again by scoring 70 which was the top score for the visiting side. 

Apart from Suryakumar Yadav none of the Mumbai Indians batters could put up a fight as the KKR bowlers showed their might. With this loss, the Mumbai Indians are officially out of the IPL to put an end to yet another shambolic season.

5. Mitchell Starc - 4/33 from 3.5 overs

The Aussie fast bowler finally came to the party as they blew away the MI lower order with three wickets in the 19th over. Mitchell Starc who had been having a terrible IPL 2024 so far finally found his groove and bowled well as he helped his team win by 24 runs. 

4. Manish Pandey – 42 runs from 31 balls

Veteran batter Manish Pandey was playing his first game of the IPL 2024 season and he made an immediate. On his return to KKR, the right-handed batter scored 42 runs as the impact player from just 31 balls with two fours and two sixes. It was a key performance by the out-of-favour Indian star as he helped KKR come out of a troublesome spot. 

3. Jasprit Bumrah – 3/16 from 4 overs

The leading wicket-taker of IPL 2024, Jasprit Bumrah was at his best once again as he picked 3 crucial wickets to bowl out KKR. The 30-year-old first dismissed Ramandeep Singh for two and then got rid of Mitchell Starc for a duck. The final wicket of Venkatesh Iyer too went to Bumrah as he got the top scorer of KKR for 70. 

2. Suryakumar Yadav – 56 runs off 35 balls

Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav kept his team in the hunt with his 24th IPL half-century. The right-handed batter had been the subject of concern as his form with the bat wasn’t great for the last few games. SKY hit 56 runs with the help of six fours and two sixes before falling to Andre Russell.

For the second year in a row, Venkatesh Iyer did the damage with the bat for KKR against Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium. The 29-year-old started slow but found his confidence along with Manish Pandey as he top-scored for his side and helped them reach 169.
