Gujarat Titans nearly gave Royal Challengers Bengaluru a huge scare during the 52nd game of Indian Premier League game on Saturday. The home team had scored 92 runs in the first six overs of the second innings needing 148 to win. From there they lost six wickets in no time before Dinesh Karthik and Swapnil Singh came to their rescue as RCB won by 4 wickets. 

Batting first Gujarat Titans could only score 147 runs with Shahrukh Khan leading the scoring charts with 37 runs. Rahul Tewatia then scored a quick 35 as David Miller scored 30 before the Titans were bowled out in the 20th over. 

5. Joshua Little – 4/45 from 4 overs

After being clobbered to all parts of the ground in his first over, the Irish bowler made a fine return with the ball. His first wicket was that of Faf Du Plessis for 64 to deal RCB their 1st blow. Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green soon fell to Little as he broke the back of RCB’s batting. 

4. Shahrukh Khan – 37 runs from 24 balls

Gujarat Titans could score only 23 runs from their first 6 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. It was at this point that Shahrukh Khan decided to cut loose as he went after the RCB bowlers and played a few delightful shots. His innings was sadly ended when he was run out in the 13th over.

IPL 2024 hasn’t been easy for the young pacer from RCB, Yash Dayal though decided to bring out his best performance in the most important game. The 26-year-old got the key wicket of Rahul Tewatia for 35 and followed it up with the wicket of Rashid Khan for 18. 

2. Virat Kohli – 42 runs from 27 balls

With Faf Du Plessis going great guns in one end, there was no let up for the GT bowlers. Virat Kohli also decided to join in the fun as he kept the pressure on the Titans bowlers with 42 runs from 27 balls. The former RCB skipper hit 2 fours and 4 sixes in his knock before falling to Noor Ahmad. 

1. Faf Du Plessis – 64 runs from 23 balls

In what was a key game for RCB, Faf Du Plessis the skipper stood up and played a captains knock. The veteran South African star came out all guns blazing and went after the Titans bowlers to get to his fifty in just 18 balls.
