In the 52nd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Gujarat Titans by four wickets to register the third consecutive win of the season. With vigilant efforts from the Top order and finishers, RCB chased the target of 148 runs in just 13.4 overs getting a huge boost in NRR. 

Earlier, RCB won the toss and elected to bowl first. GT posted a total of 147 runs before being all out in 19.3 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha and captain Shubman Gill failed to contribute with the bat as they were dismissed for 1 and 2 runs respectively. 

Sai Sudharsan also failed as he added 6 runs off 14 balls before being dismissed by Cameroon Green. However, youngster Shahrukh Khan played a crucial knock of 37 runs before being run out by Virat Kohli. On the other hand, David Miller also scored 30 runs before falling to Karn Sharma. 

In the lower order, Rahul Tewatia scored 35 runs at a strike rate of 166.67 to help GT cross the 140-run mark. Rashid Khan and Vijay Shankar also chipped in with 18 and 10 runs respectively. However, Gujarat Titans lost wickets at regular intervals and couldn't capitalize. Meanwhile, RCB's bowlers, particularly Mohammed Siraj, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Yash Dayal, kept the pressure on GT's batting lineup, by taking two wickets each.

Virat Kohli and Faf outplayed GT!

Virat Kohli also provided a solid start with 42 runs before being dismissed by Noor Ahmad. However, after Faf’s departure Will Jacks, Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Cameroon Green failed with the bat letting the game out of their grip. 

However, Dinesh Karthik remained unbeaten with a quickfire 21 runs, steering RCB to victory alongside Swapnil Singh, who scored 15 runs. GT's bowlers struggled to contain RCB's aggressive batting lineup, with Joshua Little being the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets.
