SRH's Nitish Reddy achieves unique feat in match against RR in IPL 2024

Nitish Kumar Reddy, an all-rounder for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), is a part of the elite six-hitting group to reach the most number of sixes in an Indian Premier League (IPL) innings on Thursday. In Hyderabad, during his team's match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Nitish achieved this accomplishment. With three fours and eight sixes in 42 balls, the all-round player amassed an undefeated 76*. His runs were made at a 180.95 strike rate. 

Currently, he is in a group of legends in the likes of Australian legend David Warner (eight sixes in knock of 126* against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2017), Manish Pandey (eight sixes in knock of 83 against RR in IPL 2020), Heinrich Klaasen (eight sixes in a knock of 63 against KKR in IPL 2024) and Travis Head (eight sixes in a knock of 102 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024). 

The match between SRH and RR was one last-ball thriller as RR required two runs off the last ball. SRH's star bowler, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, did magic with the ball and dismissed the well-settled Rovman Powell on the last ball which led to the team's 1-run victory over the table toppers. It was Kumar's efforts and hard work which clinched victory in the last ball and with that SRH moved up in the points table to the fourth position. 

'That's T20 cricket...' - Skipper Pat Cummins seemed happy with the result

The SRH vs RR game was an entertaining one and Pat Cummins enjoyed the game a bit too much. With a good bowling attack, they managed to win the match in the last ball. With Bhuvnesh's brilliant bowling in the last over, SRH won the match and climbed the points table. 

"I am good, was an amazing game. That's T20 cricket. Anything can happen, Bhuvi executed that last ball. You try to take some wickets in the middle. Natarajan is a good yorker bowler, fortunately we got some wickets. Played some games here, thought 200 could have been chased down," said Pat Cummins at the post-match presentation.
