The Madrid Open finals will be taking place tomorrow and we will finally find out who is going to take the Madrid crown. This has been one of the most surprising tournaments where we have seen a lot of big players go out. The two finalists have had a journey which has been iconic for both these talented players. This will also be the end of the tournament which had become the centre of attention for the Spanish Capital.

The two finalists have had a very dramatic season so far where Andrey Rublev has made an epic comeback after having a disappointing run of 4 defeats in a row. On the other Felix Auger Aliassime has had a relatively quiet season with a few big wins on the cards. Rublev has had a great Madrid Open and has made it into his first final of this tournament after dominating Taylor Fritz in the semi-finals whereas Felix has made it into the finals due to consecutive walkovers in the tournament. Altogether this has been a tournament full of unlikely circumstances occurring.

Rublev's comeback vs Felix's miracle

To be honest, this whole tournament has been full of surprising events that no one has ever expected at all. Rublev has just made a great comeback this tournament after starting this season with some disappointing performances and Felix Auger Aliassime might be a talented individual, but it was still looking unlikely for him to make it this far. There will be some fans who will consider him lucky since he has come into this final due to a player retiring due to injury, however, we still have to appreciate the earlier performances in the tournament, especially against Barcelona Open champion Casper Ruud who he beat in two straight sets. Still, it will be Rublev who will be the favourite to win this tournament being a top 10 ranked player. Even the head-to-head battle between them has Rublev on top who has won 4 out of 5 games so far against the Canadian.

Though this looks like it should be a one-sided contest with Rublev getting the better of Felix, we never know what kind of surprises will be in store going forward into this game. It will be a big challenge for somebody like Felix who will not only play a high-ranking and seeded player but also someone hungry to win the trophy. This is a perfect example of a match that could either be an epic comeback for the Russian or a miracle win for the Canadian who will be the underdog in the match.
