However in this generation we are getting some talented players who are doing well in the singles competitions.

One of the talented Indian players who is rising up the ranks right now is Sumit Nagal. The 26-year-old Indian player has had one of the best seasons for any Indian singles player. he started this season in the Australian open where he beat a seeded player in Alexander Bublik in the first round of the tournament, from there it has been a impressive journey with some fourth round finishes and a win in the challenger in Chennai. Nagal was last seen in the Monte Carlo Masters where he made it to the round of 32 and even won a set against Holger Rune. He has also currently become one of the few Indian players to make the main draw of the Roland Garros as well.

Nagal withdraws from Rome

Nagal after Monte Carlo was set to play the ATP Rome Masters 1000 which is the tournament just before the Roland Garros. This also could have been a ATP title opportunity for him just before the grand slam. However, he has chosen to withdraw from the tournament and will be looking to play the French Open. Nagal opened up on the reason saying that he has chosen to withdraw due to mental Fatigue and exhaustion due to continous competition and travelling.
