In India, several cricketers of different age groups are putting up flat out efforts to get the attention of the national selectors. These players score truckloads of runs or scale heaps of wickets in the domestic arena to allow themselves to play at the highest level. Along with it they also hope to bag an elusive contract in the most entertaining T20 league of the world, Indian Premier League (IPL).
The IPL has been a perfect platform for the young cricketers. Particularly in the last couple of years, the franchises have focused on nurturing the Indian domestic talents. Scouts keep a record of these players and then they make their way to the wishlist of franchises. Again this time some individuals deserve a bid for their wholehearted efforts in first-class cricket.
Here is the list of 5 in-form Indian players who deserve a bid in the 2020 IPL auction:
1) Abhimanyu Easwaran

India’s batting riches have reached a new level with youngsters putting up impressive performances. One of them is Abhimanyu Easwaran who is racking up batting records for fun. The Bengal opener’s growth has helped his state team immensely. In the last one year, Easwaran has been leading the batting charts in the domestic circuit.
He was the highest run-getter for Bengal in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy. His average of 50 in the first-class matches and as well as in the List-A games proves that he is a complete player across formats. He also showcased his power game in the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy where he piled on more than 300 runs at a strike rate of 137.
At 23, Abhimanyu is already knocking on the doors of Indian selectors. So it will be a shame if he is not picked up in the IPL 2020. He can be a perfect fit for a couple of franchises and particularly for his state-based team, Kolkata Knight Riders. The Dinesh Karthik led-side has struggled with their opening combinations and that is why Easwaran can be a great addition to the team.
2) Srikar Bharat

Ever since the emergence of MS Dhoni in Indian cricket, various keeper-batsmen have attracted attention in the country. Most of them are modish cricketers except the Andhra talent, Srikar Bharat. He is an old-school keeper-batsman who has received praise for his work behind the stumps. Even in his batting he always puts a price on his wicket.
In 2015, Bharat grabbed the eyeballs with his batting efforts in a Ranji Trophy game against Goa. He smashed a triple century and became the first wicketkeeper in the Indian domestic arena to achieve the feat. Following that knock, he was snapped up by Delhi franchise in the auction but was released in a year without playing a single IPL tie.
Since then the youngster has improved his hitting skills and it was on show when he crunched 142 against England Lions earlier in the year. In a four-day game, he hit 8 sixes and his strike rate was over 100 throughout the innings. Due to his consistency, now Bharat is in contention for a place in the senior team so he deserves a bid in the upcoming IPL auction.
3) G Periyaswamy

The Indian team has to credit all the T20 leagues played around the country as it has continuously supplied raw talents to the international side. Among them, the TNPL (Tamil Nadu Premier League) is one of the most exciting platforms for the budding cricketers. Currently, the fourth season is on its way and once again new names have made their mark.
G Periyaswamy is one such name that has been doing the rounds in the cricketing fraternity. With 13 wickets in 7 games, he is one of the leading wicket-takers in this year’s TNPL. The fast bowler has helped the Chepauk Super Gillies easily qualify for the playoffs. Above all, he has also been compared to Lasith Malinga due to his slingy bowling action.
Periyaswamy is a unique cricketer as he is a vision-impaired person, lacking vision in one eye. Still, he generates good pace and movement with the new ball and also has slow ball variations in his armoury. Within a season, he has shown that he has the necessary skills to play at a higher level. The speedster can turn out to be a hot property in the IPL 2020 auction.
4) Divyaansh Saxena

By looking at the recent performances of the Indian colts one can say that the country’s cricket is in safe hands. One such individual who is hitting the right notes is the Mumbai batting gem, Divyaansh Saxena. Right from the start of the year, the left-hander has played some quality knocks for the U-19 team.
Saxena was the star when the side won a 4-day game against the visiting U-19 South African team earlier in the year. His innings of 122 was full of elegant cut shots and crisp drives. Before that, he was in red hot form in the 2018-19 Cooch Behar Trophy with 781 runs in 8 games. His hunger for success is no surprise as he idolizes the current Indian skipper, Virat Kohli.
The southpaw has continued his form in the tri-series which is being played in England. A couple of days ago he stroked a match-winning century against the hosts. Divyaansh is surely carrying the legacy of Mumbai batsmanship. For all his efforts he deserves a contract in the next year’s IPL auction.
5) Satyajeet Bachhav

Of late a notion has been developing in the international circuit that leg spinners are more effective than finger spinners in white-ball cricket. Even the Indian team has preferred their wrist spin options in global events. During all this time a left-arm tweaker, Satyajeet Bachhav has been proving his mettle in the domestic arena.
Satyajeet was in scorching form in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy as he scalped 15 wickets in 8 games. In the following Ranji season, he pocketed 28 wickets in 7 ties. After all this, his breakthrough performance came in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he ended up as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
He picked up 20 wickets in 12 games at a striking economy rate of 6.09. He is a bowler who believes in flighting the ball and deceives the batsman in the air. Bachhav is a wicket-taking bowler and his numbers suggest the same. He has done his part by bowling game-changing spells and now it will be a surprise if he fails to attract a buyer in IPL.
