Jofra Archer has taken the world by storm. It’s been only a little over five months since he made his international debut and he’s already become England’s premier fast bowler. Archer might have played only 19 international games so far but he’s had quite an impact.
Everybody knows what Archer can do on the field. However, during the World Cup and even, post that, his old tweets were trending. In fact, some of them went viral as well. It became a trend to dig out Archer’s old tweets. In fact, there were some tweets that correctly predicted the way the World Cup panned out.
However, through his old tweets, Archer also criticised Asian sides a lot. Be it against India, Bangladesh or Pakistan, he did go against them. Moreover, Archer was also an anti-Dhoni from what his tweets suggest. Thus, here are five instances of Archer tweeting against Asian teams and their players.
1. Criticising Dhoni

MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been one of the most dominant teams in the history of the IPL. In the first six seasons (till 2013), they made it to five finals and won two of them as well. In 2014, they reached the top four once again.
They beat Mumbai Indians (MI) to reach the second Qualifier to face Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). However, things didn’t go their way as Virender Sehwag carted the bowlers around and smashed 122 in the first innings. The CSK bowlers had no answers whatsoever as Sehwag was in full flow.
There wasn’t much Dhoni could do either. However, Archer felt he could troll the India and CSK skipper. Hence, he tweeted that Dhoni felt he’s too smart and shared his mind. His exact tweet read, “Dhoni feel he smart”.

2. ‘Destroy the Indians’

India were having a tough time on the road from December 2013 to about March 2015. In the middle of this period, they toured England for five Test matches, five ODIs and one T20I. India lost the Test series despite taking a 1-0 lead after the first Test. However, they turned it around in the ODI series where they beat the hosts 3-1.
When the Test series started off, there were a lot of speculations as India had lost 0-4 on their last trip to the UK. Moreover, they hadn’t won an overseas Test match for three years. Thus, England were favourites once again.
However, Archer showed his full support for England. He didn’t hide his emotions as he took to Twitter to express his support as well. Just ahead of the first Test at Trent Bridge, Archer tweeted, “Come boys rally hard, got to beat India”.

3. Wanted India to get knocked out of Asia Cup (2014)

After a tough tour of New Zealand in early 2014, India travelled to Bangladesh for the Asia Cup. Four other teams took part alongside India. MS Dhoni was out of the Indian team due to an injury and Virat Kohli led the ‘Men in Blue’.
India’s first game was against the hosts Bangladesh who beat them in the 2012 edition. But just ahead of the tournament opener, Archer put out his hate for India. He simply wanted India to get knocked out early. Hence, he tweeted, “Want India get knock out early!”
The ‘Men in Blue’ did beat Bangladesh but failed to get past Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Hence, they weren’t able to qualify for the final of the Asia Cup for the second time in a row.

4. Shootout in Pakistan

It was in March 2009 when a group of terrorists attacked the Sri Lankan team bus. There were shots fired at them which resulted in a few injuries to the players as well. Hence, there has been a lot of speculation over cricket in Pakistan.
Zimbabwe went for a short tour in 2015 before World XI, Sri Lanka and West Indies went in parts in 2017 and 2018. However, Sri Lanka played a full-fledged white-ball series (three ODIs and three T20Is) in Pakistan recently in a bid to see them get some cricket at home.
But in 2013, Archer felt that it was very unsafe to play cricket in Pakistan. He felt a head-shot wasn’t too far away if cricket was played in Pakistan. Archer tweeted, “If cricket was in pakistan you head wudda get shoot off”.

5. Wanted Bangladesh to stick it to India

The India-Bangladesh is a new-age rivalry and it started off in the 2015 World Cup. India had an unbeaten run through the group stages. They won six games in a row to reach the quarter-finals. They beat Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, UAE, Ireland and Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s spirited performance had knocked England out of the World Cup. That win allowed them to make it to the knockout stage for the first time in their history. Hence, they were high on confidence while India were still favourites.
Just before the game, Archer took to Twitter to showcase on whose side he is. The Barbados-born wanted Bangladesh to give India a real stick and beat them. He backed Bangladesh throughout and wanted India out of the tournament. He tweeted, “I want Bangladesh stick India tonight”. However, India put it past Bangladesh with relative ease (in the end) to reach the semi-final.
