The weather conditions in Jamaica have been hot and humid over the past few days. The same has also taken a toll on a number of people, one of them was the legendary Sir Vivian Richards. Before the start of the second Test between West Indies and India at the Sabina Park, he was doing a pre-match show. All of a sudden, he complained of uneasiness and something disturbing.
A stretcher was brought for the veteran, who instead decided to walk off with the help of a couple of volunteers. Richards suffered from dehydration due to the extreme weather conditions. He was taken to the hospital for a precautionary check-up and he came back to do commentary as well. In the meantime, the incident gave Dean Jones a chance to go down the memory lane.
Dean Jones beats the heat to score a double century
Jones, a former Australian cricketer, talked about the Chennai Test in 1986-87 when he beat the heat to bat in excess of 500 minutes in the middle. Moreover, in that game, he scored a superlative double century. It was the second tied match in the history of Test cricket. Jones, who’s presently a commentator, was later taken to the hospital for a saline-drip to recover quickly.
Reminiscing the moment, Jones uploaded a picture of him, sitting with a towel, wrapped around him and with a bottle beside him. He captioned the picture on Twitter and wrote, “I heard my dear mate and the greatest of all time @ivivianrichards fell ill in Jamaica due to dehydration. Trust you are well my dear mate.. have I told you when I was dehydrated in Madras……???.”

Later, Aakash Chopra, another cricketer turned commentator, trolled Jones in a hilarious manner while also wishing for Richards’ good health. Tagging Scott Styris in his post, he replied and wrote, “Wishing Sir Viv good health. And Deano, why haven’t you shared that story with us yet??? @scottbstyris, you wouldn’t have heard that either…right??,”

Styris didn’t miss out on the chance of trolling Jones in a hilarious manner. Styris replied to Chopra and wrote, “Judging by that photo Aakash… not sure @ProfDeano realised that to recover from dehydration you’ve got drink everything not eat everything #rich.”
