The Group B match of the Under-19s Asia Cup 2019 will be played between Sri Lanka Under-19s and Nepal Under-19s at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The match starts at 9:30 AM local time (4:00 AM GMT) (9:30 AM IST).
The home team, Sri Lanka Under-19s will kick start their campaign in the Youth Asia Cup on Friday. They will face Nepal Under-19s in one of the two Group B matches to be played during the day. Just like the senior team, the Lankan U19 hasn’t witnessed great success in the recent part irrespective of where they played. In a recent Youth ODI series, Sri Lanka lost to Pakistan Under-19s by a 2-3 margin at home.
Their first opponents, Nepal could produce surprise if taken lightly. Their squad is filled with a couple of players who already made their senior debut with the national team. Rohit Paudel, who recently became the youngest half-centurion in ODI cricket, will lead the Nepal U19s. They finished at No.2 in the Asia Cup U19s Qualifiers as their only defeat in that tournament came against UAE that too by 1 run.
The day one of the tournament was affected by rains in Colombo. The same could be seen on Friday when The RPS Stadium will host the game between Sri Lanka and Nepal. About 40% of rain chances are predicted in the weather forecast throughout the day.
The RPS Stadium in Colombo stood host for five Youth ODIs in 2016 where five of them recorded scores between 170 and 210. Chasing wasn’t easy in those games with spinners picking a lot of wickets in the 2nd half. However, the recent results in other formats indicate scores of 250+ could be seen in this tournament.
Average first innings score: 211 (Youth ODI matches since 2016)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 2, Lost – 3
(Will be added when there is an update)

The Nepal bowlers have some great record in the Under-19 matches which is why we picked as many as three of them in Suggestion No.1. However, it could come down to quality of the two teams.
