Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are known for their distinctive on-field behaviour. While one his known for his calmness and tranquillity, the other is known for his aggression and hostile nature. These qualities often reflect in their captaincy styles.
Both Dhoni and Kohli have successfully steered the Indian side to achieve new heights in the modern era. Both the skippers have a completely different on-field approach due to their contrasting behaviour. While Dhoni reinvented a new Team India and led the team from behind the stumps, Kohli sparked a fire in the side and flourished Team India by leading from the front.
India pacer Umesh Yadav was recently asked to compare the captaincy skills between Kohli and Dhoni. The ‘Kohli vs Dhoni’ debate fails to end and the speedster was also asked to give his two cents on the topic. Umesh, who recently celebrated 10 years in international cricket, had one of the most honest replies on the debate. Umesh, while interacting to Cricbuzz, stated in a hilarious manner, “Difficult hai bhai, aisa question mat pucho.”
Umesh Yadav was India’s top wicket-taker in 2015 World Cup
Umesh Yadav broke into the national side under the leadership of Dhoni. He was India’s leading wicket-taker in the 2015 World Cup and the speedster managed to impress everyone with his sheer pace.
Talking about the current era, Umesh is one of the integral cogs of India’s pace battery. The pace bowling unit of the national side is currently one of the best ever produced by the country, which comprises the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Navdeep Saini and Umesh Yadav.
Despite losing his spot from the limited-overs side, Umesh has been delivering on a consistent basis with the red ball. His last assignment for Team India was the Christchurch Test against New Zealand where India suffered a thumping seven-wicket defeat.
Umesh has donned the national jersey in 46 Tests and 75 ODIs where he has scalped 144 and 106 wickets respectively. He made his Test debut against West Indies in 2011 and he took two wickets. The Vidarbha pacer has shown good form while bowling in the Indian conditions, where there isn’t much help for the seamers.
