Fondly regarded as the ‘God of Cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar has been on the receiving end of constant hate and criticism from many parts of India after he slammed International Popstar, Rihanna, for tweeting in support of the ongoing farmers’ protest in India. The cricketer showed his faith in the Indian government and reckoned that the country is capable of solving their internal matters and does not need assistance from any external force.
The cricketer was of the view that the people outside the country are trying to divide us for their personal benefits and urged Indian citizens to stay together during these tough times and show their support to the Indian government. On Wednesday night, January 3, Sachin expressed his views on the ongoing farmers’ protest via his official Twitter handle.
“India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let’s remain united as a nation,” Tendulkar said in a tweet.

Apart from Sachin, many other cricketers including Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik Pandya, Shikhar Dhawan, Anil Kumble, and Yuvraj Singh took to their official Twitter handle to give s strong message to the citizens to stay United and not let any external force take any undue advantage of the ongoing protest.
However, the tweet by Sachin didn’t go well with many people as they brutally slammed the legend for not showing solidarity with the farmers. For the past few days, Sachin has been subjected to constant hate and criticism for siding the Indian government instead of standing up for the farmers of the country.
Angered by the views of the batting maestro on the ongoing farmers’ protest, an agitated Congress leader joined by a group of Indian Youth Congress workers on February 5, Friday poured ink and oil on Sachin’s cutout in Kochi.
The video of the same has gone viral on social media and drew a mixed response from the netizens. While a few condemned the actions of the Congress leader saying that they can’t disrespect a legend like Sachin Tendulkar, there was a section of people who justified the doings of the political party.
