Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is often perceived as a rude and arrogant human being due to his aggressive outlook on the field. However, former Indian cricketer and national selector Sarandeep Singh made some revelations regarding the behavior of Virat Kohli and his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. Singh revealed that the couple doesn’t have servants at their home in Mumbai.
Lauding the couple for their good hospitality, Sarandeep reckoned that both Virat and Anushka love to serve the food to the guests themselves. The veteran added that Virat is always up for some healthy outings, chats or spending some quality time and you can’t expect more from a person of the stature equal to Virat Kohli.
“At his home, there are no servants. He and his wife will serve food to everyone. What else do you want? Virat always sits with you, chats with you, and goes out for dinner with you. All the other players have so much respect for him. He’s very down-to-earth and strong-willed,” Sarandeep told Sportskeeda.
Virat Kohli is as down-to-earth as he seems aggressive on the field: Sarandeep Singh
Speaking about Kohli’s behaviour during the team meetings, Sarandeep, who has represented India in 5 One Day Internationals and 3 Test matches scalping 3 and 10 wickets at an economy of 4.18 and 3 respectively, reckoned that Virat is always up for discussions. The former selectors revealed that the Indian skipper is a very good listener and as a result, whenever he joins the team-meetings they go for about 1 or 1.5 hours.
Further the 41-year-old asserted that people should not form a bad opinion about Virat Kohli because of his demeanor on the field as at that time he is carrying the responsibility of the whole Indian team on his shoulders.
“Whenever Virat comes, team meetings used to go on for 1, 1.5 hours. Virat is a good listener. I don’t know what people think about him. If you see him in the matches, he’s always charged up while batting and fielding. So it seems like he’s always hot and arrogant, and doesn’t listen to anyone.
“But no, he’s as down-to-earth as he seems aggressive on the field. In selection meetings, he was so polite. He always used to listen to everyone and then finally come to a decision,” Sarandeep Singh concluded.
