India and Australia are up against each other in the ongoing third Test of the four-match Border Gavaskar Trophy against at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). After the completion of Day 2, Australia have managed to take a slight edge over the visitors as they racked up a mammoth total of 338 runs while batting in the first innings while India were bowled out for 244 with Cheteshwar Pujara and Shubman Gill scoring fifties.
The Day 2 of the marquee Test began with former Australian captain Steve Smith playing at 31 runs while Marnus Labuschagne standing tall at 67 runs off 149 deliveries. Smith, the man in focus, finally found form to notch up his 27th ton in the format. However, India kept chipping away with the wickets on the other end as the spinner Ravindra Jadeja took 4 wickets while Navdeep Saini and Jasprit Bumrah picked one and two wickets respectively on Day 2.
Thus, the visitors bundled out Australia before Tea at a score of 338/10. Meanwhile, a warm gesture by the wicketkeeper Matthew Wade won hearts all over the globe. While Wade was batting, he hit a sweep shot which hurt Hanuma Vihari, who was fielding at forward short-leg. Though Wade could manage just 13 runs off 16 deliveries as he was dismissed by Jadeja, he played several sweep shots which hurt the batsman.

He was soon followed by Gill, who departed after playing a disciplined knock of 50 runs. The play of Day 2 was stopped when Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara were playing at 5 and 9 runs respectively.
