The outbreak of coronavirus has spread a panic through the entire world. In the past few weeks, many sporting events have been cancelled or postponed due to this threat. The number of cases of positive coronavirus patients is increasing day by day in India. To avoid the spread of the virus the Indian government is taking necessary steps.
Currently, the virus has not affected India much but it is expected to cause havoc if precautions are not taken properly. In this vital time, the government has decided to call ‘Janata curfew’ on Sunday.
Citizens have been requested not to leave their homes and stay isolated unless the threat is dealt with. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan took to twitter to talk about the step taken by Gujarat government amidst this situation.
Gujarat government bans spitting in public due to COVID-19 threat
Pathan, who played his last domestic season as a coach and player with Jammu and Kashmir, resides with his family in Vadodara. The Gujarat government recently launched a campaign in the state as a prevention against the spread of coronavirus. The state government put a ban on spitting in public places. It has been revealed that the virus can be transmitted via body fluids. Spitting in public could cause the spread of COVID-19. Hence, the Gujarat Government put a ban on this.
Cricketer Irfan Pathan posted a tweet appreciating the efforts of his state government. According to Irfan spitting in public should be banned forever. He believes it would be away for a better and cleaner environment. “Welcome move by #GujaratGovernment to ban the spitting in public during #coronavirus time. It should be ban forever for better n cleaner environment…” he tweeted.
