Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) has finally given their decision about the scenario with Deepak Hooda. The right-handed batsman has been suspended by the board for the ongoing domestic season. The decision had come on Thursday by the apex council of the Baroda Cricket Association.
A few days back, before the start of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, Deepak Hooda had decided walked out of the team after having a spat with the team captain, Krunal Pandya. The board members, especially senior officials had not taken the decision of Hooda very nicely and had expressed their anger in the media.
While some members of BCA had not agreed with the decision that was taken by the board, but the decision will stay for some time now at least. In a statement given by Satyajit Gaekwad, the chairman of BCA, it was revealed that the decision was made after all the communication with the team manager, coach and Hooda himself.

“The apex council decided that Hooda won’t be considered to represent the Baroda team for the current domestic season. The decision was taken after considering reports from team manager and coach about the incident as well as communication with Hooda,” said Satyajit Gaekwad was quoted saying by Cricbuzz.
The chairman further clarified that the all-rounder can again take part in the next domestic season, which will take place in 2021-22. Apart from the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, BCCI is also set to organise one tournament between Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy.
“Hooda can again play for Baroda for the 2021-22 season,” Gaekwad added.
The BCA joint secretary Parag Patel talked about the things which Hooda should have done instead of just leaving the squad. “Hooda did the wrong thing by walking out of the team without discussing his issues with the management. But banning him for the entire season was unnecessary. He could have been reprimanded for his act and then allowed to play,” Patel said.
Hooda was the vice-captain of Baroda for the tournament but had a fall-out with captain Krunal Pandya. Reportedly, Pandya had abused Hooda during a practice session, which made the latter to walk out of the team after letting the official of BCA know about it.
