There are several things on a cricket field which can be a source of amusement to fans. However, the game gives us some moments every day to laugh about and share a discussion with someone. However, have you ever seen someone getting run out twice on the same delivery? It is possible that two get out from the same delivery, but only one batsman is sent back to the pavilion.
On Sunday, Jake Weatherald playing for Adelaide Strikers in a Big Bash League 2020-21 match bought the tag of getting run-out at both the ends on the same delivery. The incident happened in the 10th over of the Strikers’ innings. The team was playing a league match against Sydney Thunder at the Adelaide Oval.
Philip Salt, who was batting at the other end of Weatherald smashed a ball down the ground off the bowling of Chris Green. The ball touched Green’s hand and then crashed on the stumps on the bowling end. While the Thunder players were appealing, Salt decided to run to the other end calling for a single. Weatherald kept watching the ball. Before he knew, Salt had come down a long way.

Seeing Salt, Weatherald ran back to the batting crease, only to find the wicketkeeper dislodging the bails at that end as well. So much happened within those little moments. While the third umpire was checking for run-out on the bowling end, which happened first, it was seen that Weatherald was short of his crease. Later on, it was seen that the batsman failed to make to the crease on time on the other end as well. He was dismissed as the commentators on air went from criticizing him for ball-watching to sympathizing with him.
What just happened?! Jake Weatherald somehow got run out at both ends, on the same ball! 🤯

Strikers scored 159 in the match, which was their second last match in the league stages. They bowled really well and defended that score, winning the match by six runs only. The win kept them alive and put on the third spot. Thunder and Strikers were tied on the number of wins, but Strikers are ahead by just one point. The two teams will meet once again at the same venue on Monday to their last match of the league stages.
