Adelaide Strikers completed an 82-run win against Brisbane Heat after they got boosted by the return of International stars. Alex Carey made 101 off 62 balls with as many as 13 boundaries that powered the home team to 197/5. Carey was involved in partnerships of 66, 47, and 61 runs for the first three wickets. Brisbane Heat’s chase began on a solid note as they reached 62/1 by 8th over before the start of a collapse. Brisbane lost their last nine wickets for 53 runs in the space of 9.3 overs.

The 82-run margin is also the biggest in a defeat for the Brisbane Heat surpassing their 79-run defeat in the hands of Sydney Sixers in the 2018 season.

2 – Alex Carey now has two centuries in the Twenty20 format; both for the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL. He is now the first player to score multiple BBL tons for the Strikers and overall the 6th player with multiple tons after Craig Simmons, Luke Wright, Usman Khawaja, D’Arcy Short and Aaron Finch.
Both of Carey’s BBL tons came while batting at the Adelaide Oval which makes him the first player with multiple T20 hundreds at a venue in Australia.
101 – Carey’s 101-run knock is now the 2nd highest individual score by any player against Brisbane Heat in the BBL. The highest is 122* by D’Arcy Short for the Hobart Hurricanes in the 2017-18 season.
1544 – The century has helped Alex Carey (1544 runs) to become the leading run-getter in the BBL for Adelaide Strikers by going past Jake Weatherald who has scored 1525 runs including the 36 runs on Thursday.
A season to remember for Agar:
21 – Wes Agar’s 21 wickets in the BBL 2020-21 are now the most number of wickets in a BBL edition for the Adelaide Strikers. The previous most was 19 wickets by Rashid Khan in 2018-19 and 2019-20 season while Peter Siddle also had 19 scalps in the 2019-20 season for the Strikers.

4/27 – Wes Agar’s 4/27 during STR vs HEA game is now his 2nd 4-wicket haul in the BBL as he took 4/33 in the previous season also for the Strikers against Hobart Hurricanes. Wes Agar is now only the 2nd player after Peter Siddle (2) with multiple 4-fers in the BBL for the Adelaide franchise.
52 – Peter Siddle completed 50 wickets in the BBL for Adelaide Strikers with his first of three wickets during the STR vs HEA game. Rashid Khan (72), Ben Laughlin (60) and Michael Neser (59) are the other players with 50+ BBL wickets for the Strikers
