Brisbane Heat scripted a thrilling victory against Sydney Thunder in the knockout match of the 10th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) at Manuka Oval in Canberra to take a step closer to reach the final of the elite tournament. While Brisbane Heat emerged victorious by 7 wickets, the viewers were served with utmost entertainment as they witnessed a lot of entertaining moments throughout the game.
Batting in the first innings, Sydney Thunder’s opening batsman Usman Khawaja was caught in an embarrassing yet hilarious moment as he got some running repairs with his undergarments. During the beginning of the 9th over, the game was unexpectedly stopped for a few minutes as Khawaja, who was playing at 26 runs off 25 deliveries, changed his lower abdomen guard in the ground only.
This whole episode left the commentators, audience and the opposition players stunned and they couldn’t stop their laughs as Usman got rid of his pants and shoes to change his lower abdomen guard standing in the middle of the ground.

Sam Heazlett produces a stunning knock to take Brisbane Heat home
The match had commenced with Brisbane Heat skipper Chris Lynn winning the toss and electing to bowl first. Put to bat, Sydney Thunder could only manage a total of 158 runs on the board in the 20 overs. Captain Callum Ferguson and wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings added 25 and 34 runs to the scoreboard while Ben Cutting played a crucial role by playing a knock of 34 runs off 18 deliveries.
For Brisbane, Mark Steketee and Mitchell Swepson took two wickets each while Marnus Labuschagne, Morne Morkel, and Ben Laughlin had one each to their names.
Chasing 159, Brisbane had a torrid run as they lost both their opening batsmen Chris Lynn and Joe Denly within three overs. This is when Sam Heazlett emerged as the wrecker-in-chief for his team as he played a sublime knock of not out 74 runs off 49 deliveries. He was aptly supported by Marnus Labuschagne and Jimmy Pierson who scored 32 and 43 runs respectively. Thus, Brisbane Heat chased the target in 19.1 overs to script victory by 7 wickets.
