Rohit Sharma, the vice-captain of Team India’s limited-overs team, reckoned that being homebound shouldn’t be an excuse for going out in the lockdown period. The entire world is currently going through a stage of turbulence where the COVID-19 has been dictating terms. There’s no stopping the coronavirus, which has accounted for the lives of many around the globe.
Amidst the times of turbulence, there’s lockdown in almost every corner of the globe. The governments of the nations have been circulating directives surrounding the necessities in the situation of crisis. Even as staying sanitized is one of them, there have been constant calls of staying in quarantine and staying indoors. People are being constantly made aware.
Rohit passing on a message
Rohit wasn’t any difference. The 32-year-old has been spending the break time with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira. The Nagpur-born didn’t miss out on the chance of spreading awareness surrounding the need of not going outside.
He uploaded a picture where he was seen, tying his shoelaces. Rohit captioned the pic and wrote, “Being homebound is no excuse, stay fit, stay in, stay safe,”

Rohit was earlier scheduled to take part in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), representing the Mumbai Indians (MI). The MI are the four-time champions of the T20 championship, having won the titles in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. Ever since Rohit took over as Mumbai’s skipper, the team’s fortunes have taken a literal U-turn.
Rohit has also flourished with the bat in hand. In fact, in the 2018 edition of the IPL, he batted in the middle order, keeping in mind the best interests of the team. That the seasoned campaigner has flourished in all departments have made Rohit a fulcrum of the IPL franchise.
He last played in the T20I series against New Zealand. To his dismay, he developed an injury and was ruled out of the ODI and Test series. Shubman Gill and Prithvi Shaw replaced him thereafter. Rohit was then set to play in the IPL, but he has to wait for a while before making a comeback. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the postponement of the IPL.
