Former Australian spinner Brad Hogg is spending quarantine time quite nicely by interacting with his fans. Hogg, who has been involved in commentary since his retirement, is an active user on social media. During one of his question and answer sessions on Twitter, the former leg-spinner was asked who he thinks is a better all-rounder between Hardik Pandya and Ben Stokes. Hogg has been a bit diplomatic while answering such questions.
Brad Hogg picks Stokes as a better all-rounder than Pandya
However, he didn’t hesitate in picking his favourite this time. He revealed that he would have to select Ben Stokes at this time. He also believes that Hardik has huge potential but he hasn’t played as much international cricket to be compared to his England counterpart.
I have to go with the Englishman on this one. Hardik has huge potential, but hasn't played enough international cricket to challenge Stokes as the all rounder of my world XI. https://t.co/8u0jpfc7Dv

The remark by Brad Hogg is quite accurate. Hardik Pandya has featured in 11 Tests, 54 ODIs and 40 T20Is for India. Stokes, on the other hand, has played 63 test matches, 95 ODIs and 26 T20Is for England. Even if we compare Pandya’s stats with that of Ben Stokes, the Englishman leads the way by a fair way. Stokes has more than 7,000 international runs along with his 241 wickets.
His record is tremendous in all formats of the game, possibly barring T20Is. Stokes, who will feature for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020, had a tremendous year on the field in 2019. Not only did he help England to win their first world Cup but also single-handedly won them an Ashes Test match at Headingley. His knock of 135 not out ensured that his team didn’t lose the series.
Hardik Pandya, on the other hand, has close to 2000 International runs and a touch above 100 wickets. He hasn’t played a lot of international cricket since the World Cup and has been out of the team due to his injuries. It was expected that he will be back in action fully during the ODI series against South Africa at home.
However, with the outbreak of Coronavirus, the series got cancelled and subsequently the IPL has also come under threat. This means that Baroda all-rounder will have to wait little longer to make a comeback into professional cricket.
