Senior Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin, who was one of the key figures for Kings XI Punjab, has moved to Delhi Capitals for the new season of IPL commencing September 19. He has landed in the UAE along with his new teammates to gear up for the big tournament. He will now play under the captaincy of young talent Shreyas Iyer with other star players like Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, and many others.

Ashwin recently opened up on how the England team was blown off when Yuvraj Singh hit Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over. The off-spinner recalled how the incident was the biggest moment of glory for the entire Indian squad. It is regarded as one of the most significant achievements in the history of Indian cricket. The tall spinner accepted the fact that the T20 league wasn’t considered serious back then, and many players opted out of the same.

In his recent Youtube interaction on the show ‘Reminisce with Ash’, he spoke, “And when the entire nation was watching it, that’s when that MS Dhoni team really hit it out of the park. And Yuvraj Singh was the ace up their sleeve. He smashed Broad for six sixes. Never had I seen Broad in such a situation before.”

Ashwin emphasized the fact how the whole England team lost their mind and started discussing the same. Even the support staff came running on and opined on what’s needed to be done further. Broad was never seen in such a helpless state ever before.

“After four sixes, the captain and bowler had a discussion. Three, four players joined in. Then all the 11 joined in. And after that, 17. Even the support staff came running in. They kept talking. But what was the point of talking? If you are smashed around like that, I am saying this as a bowler, you are really rattled. You don’t know what you are going to do next,” he added

The Delhi spinner said that he felt sorry for Broad, but nothing could’ve saved him as the left-handed Yuvraj was in stupendous form. It is known that before the masaccre at the Kingsmead, Yuvraj was involved in a heated exchange with Flintoff and the incident aggravated him further to produce the thunder.
