There is close to nothing that KL Rahul can do a cricket field. For the past year, the Karnataka player has shown how versatile he is and how much varied his game is now. The batsman had initial struggles but it seems that in recent times he has totally found his feet in the international cricket.
Going into the World Cup, Rahul was assigned to bat in the middle order. However, midway through the mega event, he was shifted to the opening slot as the regular opener, Shikhar Dhawan got injured. KL got runs during the tournament and was in incredible form after that as well. With runs in the ODI and T20I format, captain Kohli has no option but to fit the Karnataka player somehow in the team.
Irfan Pathan wishes KL Rahul and calls him a multitalented player
With Rishabh Pant out with injury, Rahul was asked to keep wickets which he did quite brilliantly. After this, he was asked to bat in the middle order and once again he didn’t disappoint. In fact, during the fifth T20I against New Zealand a few months ago, stand-in captain injured himself during the first innings of the match. With Virat Kohli being rested for that match, Rahul was made the captain. He led the side well and India ended up winning that match as well. After this, people on social media started referring to Rahul as the man for every job.
As the Kings XI Punjab captain was celebrating his 28th birthday on Saturday, many tweets and posts filled with wishes appeared on social media. One of them was from the former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan. Pathan posted on his official Twitter handle and wished the batsman in a cheeky way.
Via the tweet, Pathan praised Rahul that he can bat at any position, can keep wickets and also lead his team. Pathan then asked Rahul if he could also help in making a vaccine for the coronavirus. The former called KL a multitalented player. “Can bat at any position. Can keep. Can lead the team as well. Can you help with #coronavaccine?;) Wish you a very happy birthday multi-talented @klrahul11 #birthday”, the tweet by Pathan read.
