Seeing that many classic cricketers have been bowing out of the game silently without even having a farewell match, former Indian all-rounder, Irfan Pathan, has come with an exciting idea. The all-rounder who retired earlier this year proposed a brilliant idea of having a farewell cum charity match between recently retired legends of cricket and the current playing squad from the Men in Blue.
He took to his Twitter handle to put forth his views, and the exciting take was appreciated by thousands around the world. He framed his playing XI of recently retired cricketers starting from Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Irfan himself to the likes of Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan, and Pragyan Ojha.
He tweeted – “Many people are talking about a farewell game for retired players who didn’t get a proper send-off from the game. How about a charity cum farewell game from a team consisting of retired players vs the current Indian team?”

While cricket fanatics around the world were quite excited about the idea of seeing their retired legends once again on the field, few had some different responses to it. A fan came up and asked why Pathan is so much keen on troubling Virat Kohli and the current squad. The fan tweeted, “Kyun Chiku ko pelne me lge ho”.
Pathan, who probably couldn’t have controlled his laughter, replied, “Chiku hamara kachumbar bana dega”.

Recently MS Dhoni’s shocking retirement caused a stir in the cricket world, and people couldn’t stop reacting to it. While captain cool wasn’t seen even once on the field post-2019 World Cup semifinal against New Zealand, people were expecting him to be an integral part of the 2021 T20 World Cup.
He left the cricket world by announcing in retirement through a simple Instagram post in the most silent manner, and now demands for his farewell match have been overflowing.
Suresh Raina also joined him in his journey and retired announcement through social media. However, both of them will be seen flaunting their class and skills in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League commencing September 19 in the UAE.
