In Group three, Glamorgan are up against Kent in the ongoing match of the 2021 edition of the County Championship at St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury. While the two teams were showcasing their skills on the cricket field, the fans were entertained with a hilarious episode on Day 2 of the game.
The 28th over of the match saw Australia’s speedster Michael Neser bowling against England’s Sam Billings. On the fourth delivery, Billings hit the ball towards the fine leg and ran to take a single. The ball was collected by the fielder standing in the deep and he was preparing to throw the ball towards the wicketkeeper.
Chris Cooke, who was standing behind the wickets with the gloves, quickly moved towards the stumps to collect the ball. However, the fielder misdirected his throw and in order to stop the ball, Cooke ran into the stumps. Though Chris managed to stop the ball, he ended up crashing over the stumps and managed to uproot two stumps before tumbling down to the ground.
Cooke’s encounter with the wickets made for a hilarious episode and all the players present on the match field couldn’t stop smiling over the affair. The official Twitter handle of Glamorgan uploaded the short clip of the funny incident on their official Twitter handle with the caption, “His teammates enjoyed this one from the skipper!”
