The defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders put on a clinical effort in the opening game of the Caribbean Premier League 2019 (CPL). They sneaked through an 11-run win over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots despite the absence of a couple of their key players who played a role in last year’s triumph. The new skipper Kieron Pollard push his team to a respectable total with his 32-ball 47.
After scoring 33 with the bat, the all-rounder James Neesham came up with a 3-wicket haul in his first CPL match in five years. In the second match, they will be up against Jamaica Tallawahs. Chris Gayle will return to his home franchise, the Jamaica Tallawahs. Gayle will take up the role once against as he had an experience of winning the 2013 and 2016 CPL titles for the Jamaican franchise.
For the 2nd straight match in Trinidad, the Rain gods are expected to stay away unlike during the India-Windies ODI series. Friday is forecasted to be partly cloudy with is expected to be dry during the match timings. There could be spells of rain during the afternoon and in the night around the time of completion of the game.
The first match of this tournament gave a feel of a low scoring game as the previous edition witnessed totals of 190+ in almost every game at this venue. The spinners played key role for both teams which could continue in the 2nd match. However, scores up to 170 can be seen during this match.

Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:

Batters – Chris Gayle, Tion Webster, Kieron Pollard
All-Rounders – Andre Russell (VC), Jimmy Neesham (C)
Bowlers – Muhammad Hasnain, Khary Pierre, Oshane Thomas, Jerome Taylor

Sunil Narine hasn’t been at his best in recent times. His batting has taken a hit and might not work against Tallawahs who possess Oshane Thomas and Jerome Taylor. There is no batsman in Jamaica XI except Chris Gayle who can be vulnerable against Narine. However, Gayle usually plays out Narine without losing his wicket to the off-spinner.
Jamaica Tallawahs have enough resources to get better of the Trinbago Knight Riders.
