The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around a certain number of events as the fraternity was busy tweeting about it. India is celebrating its 73rd Independence Day today and all the Indian cricketers wished the fans and followers on the auspicious occasion. Rakshabandhan was also celebrated in the country and some of the cricketers posted pictures with their sisters.

Virat Kohli played yet another match-winning knock in the third ODI against West Indies on Wednesday to seal the three-match series by 2-0. He walked in early in the chase with Rohit Sharma getting run-out and got going from the word go. The Indian captain remained unbeaten until the end en route his 43rd ODI century as India won the match comfortably.

He also broke a lot of records during his heroic innings and became the first-ever cricketer to score more than 20000 international runs in a decade. Brendan Taylor, the Zimbabwe cricketer, was in awe of the 30-year-old and praised him to hilt. Mithun Manhas too wasn’t behind and had words of praise for the Indian skipper for his knock in the deciding ODI.
