The cricketing trends on social media today revolved around a number of events as the fraternity was busy on their official handles on Sunday. India and Windies are currently playing the second ODI of the three-match series at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. The visitors won the toss and opted to bat first only to lose Shikhar Dhawan early in the innings. However, Virat Kohli got going from the word go and slammed an impressive half-century and Aakash Chopra was in awe of the Indian captain.

Hashim Amla announced retirement from international cricket a couple of days ago and messages flooded in for him on social media. A lot of current and former cricketers congratulated him on a successful career. Amla, on Sunday, took an opportunity to thank almost each and every player who tweeted for him. He also specially thanked his former teammate AB de Villiers and called him ‘Abbas’ funnily while also expressing his happiness for sharing the dressing room with him.

Afghanistan cricketers, meanwhile, celebrated Eid on Sunday and they wished their followers and fellow teammates on the auspicious occasion. The likes of Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Rahmat Shah and others took to Twitter to wish their followers.
