Danielle Wyatt, the England Women’s cricketer, recently took the toilet roll challenge on social media platform Instagram. Her prowess on the field of play is pretty much known. And this time around, she gave a glimpse of her football skills.
The 28-year-old resorted to keepie-uppies- a term used for jugglery skills in the sport. She used a roll of toilet paper to show her skills. A number of other sportspersons have taken the challenge, posting videos. Now Wyatt has nailed it with sheer ease.
She uploaded a video, thanking Georgia Adams, her fellow England teammate. Wyatt also went on to challenge her England mate Fran Wilson and the 16-year-old Shafali Verma, the talented Indian batswoman, who got to ICC’s number.1 T20I batter a few days ago.
Here is Wyatt’s video
Danielle Wyatt’s tough time of late
The Stoke-on-Trent Wyatt recently was a part of the 2020 edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. She has turned up with a number of stupendous knocks over in her career, but she had a pretty tough outing in the mega event. She opened the batting on every other occasion and could only manage 47 runs in four matches at a rather rusty average of 11.75.
In the first three games, she got single-digit scores on every other occasion. Her top score of 29 came against Pakistan Women at the Sydney Showground Stadium. She also found it tough to get the ball away as she played at a strike-rate of 102.17. Overall, she has 1588 runs in 109 games at an average of 20.10 with a couple of centuries and seven fifties under her belt.
England’s tournament didn’t end on a happy note though. Their semi-final against India at the Sydney International Stadium was abandoned without a ball being bowled. The rub of the green didn’t go their way as they were eliminated from the event with India making the final.
In the Group B, England finished below South Africa. And since India finished above their opponent in the Group stage, Harmanpreet Kaur and Co qualified for the final. Thereafter, Wyatt expressed her disappointment, anguishing about the wrath of bad luck England faced.
