Back in 2017, Rashid Khan became one of the first cricketers from Afghanistan to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He, along with veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, was picked to play for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In the very first season, the young tweaker shone for the franchise and he had the privilege of plying his trade under the leadership of David Warner.
He hasn’t looked back ever since and kept on weaving magic for the same franchise for the next couple of seasons. Bearing in mind his impressive shows, it’s unlikely that SRH will release him in the near future. Back in 2018, he was one of the leading wicket-takers and on the backs of his stupendous display of bowling, the Sunrisers qualified to the final of the tournament.
Rashid has turned 21 years now and already has racked up quite a few records under his belt at the highest level and doesn’t seem to stop any time soon. In the meantime, Warner took to his Instagram story to wish the spinner. But in his wish, the Sydney-born Warner hilariously referred to Rashid as a 25-year-old. It may be because, Rashid looks a tad older than his age.

Contrasting times of Rashid and Warner
Rashid recently became the youngest captain in Test cricket when he took the field in the only Test versus Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The Young Turk scored a fifty and also picked up 11 wickets in the match. The all-round show helped the Afghans win the match and Rashid was rightly adjudged as the Player of the Match for his sheer brilliance.
He is presently playing the T20I tri-nation series, also involving Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. As far as Warner is concerned, he notched some superlative knocks in the 2019 World Cup, however, the Ashes turned out to be disastrous for him. Apart from a solitary half-century, he couldn’t cross the single digit score even once. Stuart Broad troubled him a number of times and dismissed him cheaply.
