Umpiring blunders are not any new wonders in the cricketing world due to which players have to suffer big time on some occasions. Even after the advent of great technology and other advancements, a player has to leave the field when the umpire signals him out. The frustration of the players gets well caught on the camera and stump mic, and it starts doing round in the social media world. A similar event happened during the Qualifier of BBL 2020-21 between a match of Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers.
It happened in the 13th over when Steve O’ Keefe was up in his spin action, and Mitchell Marsh held the strike. He was caught down the leg side even when apparently there was no edge involved. The frustration in him didn’t see any bounds, and he blabbered immediately after the umpire signalled him out.
“F**king sh*t umpiring,” he shouted and left the field.

The event happened in the 13th over when Scorchers were playing on 85/3. Josh Inglis was the other man with him at the non-striker’s end. Winning the toss, Scorchers decided to bat first, wherein they posted a target of 167 runs for the opponents to play down. The opening stand of Liam Livingstone and Jason Roy was short-lived, and they couldn’t bring up anything significant on the field of Manuka Oval, Canberra.
The match between Scorchers and Sixers is in full swing in BBL 2020-21
The batting task of Scorchers was shouldered majorly by Inglis, who smashed 69 runs of 41 deliveries to get his team going. A cameo by Ashton Turner proved to be useful towards the end as he added 33 off 22 deliveries. Though Ben Dwarshuis leaked 40 runs in his quota of four overs, he picked two wickets for his side. The rest of the bowlers from Sixers had to settle for one wicket each.
Sixers went on to chase the target quite comfortably to propel to the grand finale. On the other hand, Perth Scorchers will play knockout. James Vince was in top-class form in the qualifier for Sydney Sixers.
