Cricket has come to a stand still across the world
Like every other sport across the world, Cricket has also come to a stand still amid the Coronavirus outbreak. Each and every series has been either postponed or cancelled even as the marquee tournament, the Indian Premier League (IPL) remains deferred until April 15. Various speculations are being made about the future of the cash-rich league while the BCCI is reportedly set to speak to the stakeholders via a conference call of March 24.
As far as international cricket is concerned, all the bilateral series have been postponed for now and the boards are expecting to organise the matches later in the year. Even the Pakistan Super League (PSL) which was condensed after Coronavirus situation became serious couldn’t be completed with the competition being called off only a few hours ahead of the semi-finals.
While the concerned authorities are keeping an eye on the situation, Cricket is unlikely to commence in the near future which has, in a way, allowed a much-needed break to the cricketers from their hectic schedules.
