Harsha Bhogle is not only one of the most popular cricket commentators in the game but is also one of the most scrutinized one. No commentator divides opinion like Bhogle does. Time and again, one has seen fans not only praising him for his immaculate commentary of the game but also criticise him for the smallest of mistakes.
One of the reasons why Bhogle is targeted is that he did not play in international cricket. More often than not, the critics take shots at him and undermine his credentials as a commentator for that particular reason. Just over a year ago, Sanjay Manjrekar had also taken a dig at Bhogle during an on-air spat by pointing out that he did not play international cricket.
Well, criticism is a part and parcel of commentators’ lives or anyone else associated with any sports and Bhogle is not an exception either. But sometimes, the critics just cross the fine line between criticising someone and abusing someone and Bhogle has faced such a situation a number of times. But the kind of man he is, Bhogle ignores the abuse most of the times.
Recently, he was abused by an user on Twitter and Bhogle once again decided to ignore it. Perhaps that is what compelled the user to apologise. The user took to the social media platform to issue an apology to the veteran commentator. Tagging Bhogle, the user apologised and also issued a clarification, writing: “Sorry @bhogleharsha sir. I abused you sometime back due to my misunderstanding”

Harsha Bhogle responds:
Harsha Bhogle noticed the apology from the user and was quick to respond to it. Classy as ever, Bhogle started by telling the user he was not the only one who abused him. He also stated that abusing someone is not worth it, writing:
“You are not the only one! People abuse when they are angry or emotional and look for a target within reach. But it isn’t worth it. I let those go harmlessly outside off! And the abusers are in a minority anyway. Cheers.”
