Rohit Sharma has been one of India’s most batsmen in the ODI and T20I format. Ever since he started opening for the national team in the 2013 Champions Trophy, there’s been no stopping the Mumbai cricketer. He has gone from strength to strength and is currently India’s stalwart at the top of the order. Rohit already has three triple centuries to his name in the one-day format.
His unbeaten 264 against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata is still etched in the memories. He also has four centuries in T20I cricket, the most by any batter in the format. Rohit also has the fastest T20I century to his name against Lanka itself way back in December 2017. He is 33 years old and is speculated to take down more records, bearing in mind the talent he has.

Last year, Rohit also managed to stamp his authority in Test cricket after he was sent as an opener against South Africa. He smashed a double century and repaid the selector’s faith. He was also set to play for India in the Tests against New Zealand, but an untimely injury turned detrimental. In one of the T20Is versus the Black Caps, he helped India win with a six in the last ball of Tim Southee.
Rohit is also the most successful captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the T20 tournament, he plies his trade for the Mumbai Indians (MI) and has guided them to four titles. In 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019, MI emerged as the champions. In the 2019 World Cup, he became the first batsman to smash as many as five centuries in a single edition of the mega event.
In the meantime, Dean Jones, the former Australian cricketer, conducted a Question and Answer session on Twitter. There a fan asked him to describe Rohit. The fan took to Twitter and wrote, “One word for Rohit Sharma? @ProfDeano #askProf.”
However, Jones didn’t answer the question in one word, but he heaped praises on the Indian batter. Replying to the supporter, he wrote, Hitman sets the tone for this Indian team. Amazing cricketer.”
