Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season is only 20 days away from its inaugural game to be played at Wankhede Stadium between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians getting underway. The franchises are busy giving final touch up to their teams and support staffs. Meanwhile, the fans have started praying to God in order to help their side in winning the cash-rich league. And, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) followers are quite ahead from others as they don’t want to leave any stone unturned ahead of the 13th edition of IPL.
The Virat Kohli-led RCB is yet to win the IPL trophy since its commencement. They have played finals twice in 2009 and 2011. But, the luck never favoured them as they lost both the crucial games. And, their dream to become champions got shattered on both occasions. However, this year they have made some major recruitments in the auction to bring some reinforcements in respective departments.
RCB followers have begun praying ahead of IPL 2020
This year RCB boast of a strong overseas batting line-up that comprises of Aaron Finch, AB de Villiers, Joshua Phillippe. They have also roped in Dale Steyn, Kane Richardson and Isuru Udana to add some strength to their bowling unit. Not only the players but they have appointed whole new team management with Mike Hesson being their director of operations. The franchise also introduced a new jersey as well as logo ahead of the IPL 2020. This all shows the eagerness of the team to lift their maiden title.
Meanwhile, it is well known that they have a massive fan following across the globe. And their ardent followers have begun with their prayers to god in temples in order to help their favourite team to lift the trophy. There was one of the fans, who threw a banana writing ‘Ee Sala Cup Namde’ in Male Mahadeshwara hills temple in Chamarajanagar (practice to fulfil one’s desire or wish).
There was one more case where a fan broke a coconut with RCB flag in his hand. The hardcore follower said that he is not praying for job or a girlfriend but for RCB to lift their maiden title in the upcoming season. “I am not praying for a job or a girlfriend. I only want RCB to lift the IPL cup this year, kindly bless the team,” a fan said as quoted by The New Indian Express. The video of the same has also gone viral.
