MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper has been the talk of the town since the conclusion of the 2019 World Cup. He played his last international match against New Zealand in the semi-final of the marquee event and since then he has been on a sabbatical. There were rumours that the Indian glovemen might retire but that has not happened so far.
However, the fans want to know if he will go onto play T20 World Cup scheduled next year in Australia or not. Now, Dwayne Bravo, who plays under Dhoni in Chennai Super Kings has come out with a strange revelation. The 38-year-old is one of the most influential skippers of cricket history. Team India has won several accolades under his leadership like T20 World Cup in 2007, followed by 50-over World Cup in 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. Moreover, he is the only skipper to have won all the three ICC events in international cricket.
Dwayne Bravo opines on his comeback into the international cricket
Dwayne Bravo, the West Indian all-rounder said that Dhoni has not retired from cricket until now. He feels that the veteran cricketer will most probably play for Team India in the upcoming T20 World Cup. The West Indian cricketer also added that the former Indian skipper has never let outside things affect his game and he has taught everyone the same.
“Dhoni has never retired. So I think he will be there at the World T20. MS has never let things outside influence him and he has taught us the same and told us to never panic and trust our abilities,” Dwayne Bravo said as quoted by Times of India.
Bravo bid adieu to international cricket back in 2015 but now he has made his way back into the game. On the same, the 36-year-old recited that he retired from the game just because of the politics. But, now there’s a change in the leadership both on and off the field. So, it is an appropriate time for him to make a comeback.
“I feel good physically and I still have a lot to offer. I had retired because of off-field politics. But there is a change of leadership both on and off the field. So I felt that it is a good time to come back,” he added.
