The 3rd match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Region Final 2019 will be played between Bermuda and Canada at the National Stadium in Hamilton.
The match starts at 11:00 AM local time (7:30 PM IST) (2:00 PM GMT).
The opening game of the Americas Region Final tournament itself produced an upset. Bermuda defeated the United State of America by six runs in a thriller. Delray Rawlins scored 63 off 53 balls to push Bermuda to 141/7 in their first T20I after 11 years. The hosts unsettled the United States by taking wickets at regular intervals. As a result, they finished up with only 135/7.
Bermuda will now face Canada in the first of the two games to be played on Monday. Canada made a grand return to the T20I format with an 84-run win against the Cayman Islands. They posted a huge total of 196/6 in their 20 overs which was not possible without a 48-ball 101 from Ravinderpal Singh. The No.4 batsman thus became the first player in T20I history to score a century on debut.
The weather forecast suggested dry weather during the Monday afternoon. The forecast also indicates little chances of rain around 10 AM but is unlikely to delay the start of the game.
The Bermudian pitches were expected to be on the slower side as the same was witnessed during the first game. Quite a few players got out when the ball kept really low. A couple of T20s and List A games hosted by this venue in 2010 do suggest the possibility of 160+ totals.
