As many as four matches were played on the last day of the group-stage but none of them produced any surprise results. In a virtual knockout between South Africa and UAE, the home side won by 23 runs on the DLS method to qualify for the quarter-final. Chasing 300 to win, the UAE team got off to a good start but a few wickets here and there brought their scoring rate down and cost them the QF spot. England and Sri Lanka got the better of Nigeria and Japan respectively while Zimbabwe also defeated Scotland by a big margin.
