The 3rd match of the 2019 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier between Scotland Women and United States of America (USA) Women will be hosted by the Forthill in Dundee.
The match starts at 10:00AM local time (9:00AM GMT) (2:30PM IST).
The hosts Scotland will be in action for the first time in the Qualifier tournament as they face the United States of America in the 3rd match at the Forthill on Saturday. Led by Kathryn Bryce, an exciting all-round talent, Scotland would look to earn the ticket to Australia next year. They have got a decent record in this format and would like to make most of the home advantage.
They won four out of the six matches they played during the recent Quadrangular T20I series. The Scottish Women ended Thailand Women’s record winning streak. The most important take away from that series was their success even without skipper Kathryn. On the other hand, the USA, led by Sindhu Sriharsha, would like to put maximum efforts in surprising one and all with their performances.
The clouds hover over the Dundee on Saturday. The first match between Bangladesh and PNG could well be a shortened game going by the weather forecast and make Scotland and USA wait for a bit. Though the forecast suggests things to get cleared by 12 PM, it will come down to the ground conditions in the end.
Scotland posted 170 at this venue during the warm-up match. Though the game was against Namibia, the fact that the surface was good one for batting can’t be ignored. Since this will be the 2nd game on this track, we might see scores around 120.

The Scotland skipper Kathryn Bryce had good game time in KSL 2019. She picked up at least one wicket in her previous six of seven matches and scored 30+ runs when she couldn’t do it with the ball. Onika Wallerson hasn’t made a mark in T20Is yet but she is the one you can’t miss out. She did score 15* and took a wicket in the warm-up.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Captain Options –Kathryn Bryce, Sarah Bryce, Sindhu Sriharsha
Vice-Captain Options –Onika Wallerson, Priyanaz Chatterji, Sugetha Chandhrasekar
The wicket-keepers of both teams Sarah Bryce and Sindhu Sriharsha are perfect for the multipliers. Sriharsha, who is also the USA skipper is their most trustable player while Bryce affects 1-2 dismissals every match on an average.
Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper –Sindhu Sriharsha (VC), Sarah Bryce (C)
Batters –Sugetha Chandhrasekar, Erica Rendler, Becky Glen, Lorna Jack
All-Rounders –Kathryn Bryce, OnikaWallerson
Bowlers –Katie McGill, Katherine Fraser, Sara Farooq.
Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Fantasy Cricket:
Keeper –Sindhu Sriharsha, Sarah Bryce
Batters –Sugetha Chandhrasekar, Becky Glen, Shebani Bhaskar
All-Rounders –Kathryn Bryce (C), OnikaWallerson (VC), PriyanazChatterji
Bowlers –Katie McGill, Abtaha Maqsood, Lisa Ramjit.
USA Women have played only one T20I series – in May this year against Canada. The career numbers from that series might not show the real picture. The players who couldn’t make it big there should not be ignored.
Scotland might be clear favourites unless the USA punch above their weight.
