England were left bugged-eye in the first inning of the one-off Test match after their World Cup title triumph. Ireland are playing England at Lord’s in the four-day Test and earned many accolades for their bowling, as the home side was left to lick their wounds after being bundled out for 85 batting first. This marked a sharp eye-opening for the world champions as they prepare for the Ashes 2019.
This led to England team being severely trolled on Twitter and Jofra Archer, who is expected to make his Test debut in the upcoming Ashes series against Australia was targeted by the Iceland Cricket’s Twitter handle for one of his prediction tweets. Archer made a big mistake in the post which was pointed out by Iceland Cricket’s account.
Archer predicts Anderson and Broad to run through Ireland batting
Before the Test match, Jofra Archer had tweeted showing the love for the bowling friendly conditions at the Lord’s which showed the pitch with a tinge of green. He assumed that the England bowlers would have a field day with the ball. However, in his tweet, he mentioned that Broad and Anderson will be unstoppable.
Love to see bowler friendly conditions , Jimmy and broad will be unstoppable 👀

However, as many know, James Anderson was ruled out of the contest due to a right calf injury he suffered during a county encounter for Lancashire. Archer’s tweet gave other users the impression that he actually didn’t know that the leading wicket-taker for England in Tests was not playing for England against Ireland.
And Iceland Cricket took full advantage of it and messaged, “Who is going to tell him? #ENGvIRE On a serious point, is this a sign of England having switched off? A player who hopes to make his debut in the Ashes next week doesn’t know what’s happening in his team’s current match. Caught napping?”

English skipper Joe Root had won the toss and elected to bat first. However, that is the only thing which went in his favour as the Irish team dominated the proceedings thereafter. Tim Murtagh picked a fifer, while Boyd Ranking became the ninth player to play Test cricket for and against England. This setback comes just after 10 days of the team winning the ICC trophy at the same ground. England bowled Ireland out for 207, but ended up conceding the 122-run lead.
