Wasim Akram is probably the greatest left-arm fast bowler the world has ever seen. Pakistan quick picked more than 900 wickets in international cricket in a career that spanned almost 20 years. The first man to pick over 500 wickets in ODIs and to take two hat-tricks each in ODIs and Tests, has been one of the leading commentators in the game.
Akram was mentored by Imran Khan and he picked a 10-wicket haul in just his second Test match against New Zealand. The left-arm pacer also played an important role in Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup victory, as he was named the Man of the Finals picking three wickets against England and led his team to title glory. He went onto become the captain of the team and even led the team to quarterfinals in 1996 tournament and finals in 1999 in England.
Akram shuts up a fan with a witty reply
Wasim Akram recently put up a photo on his social media account becoming part of the FaceApp Challenge as well. The former Pakistan captain put up his photo and then a processed one using the app, which showed how he will look after 20 years or so. “Not bad for an old fella 😅 Phew #20yearsFromNow #HopefullyNotEarlier #FaceAppIsNtTooBad,” the legendary Pakistan pacer wrote.

One of his fans decided to be clever and commented, “Almost there (with a laughing emoji).”

However, not to be far behind, Akram was quick to use his sharp wit and came back with an epic reply, which put the smartass fan in his spot once and for all. Akram said that no matter how old he gets but he will still able to deliver a pin-point yorker anywhere anytime. “No matter how old I get buddy, I’ll still be able to deliver a Yorker anywhere anytime 😂☝️ #FaceApp,” Wasim Akram tweeted.

This encapsulates what Akram wants the Pakistani team to be. He suggested to the team to become fit in order to compete with the best teams in the world. “Apart from batting and bowling skills, what we have seen in this tournament (World Cup) was the sides that possessed strong fielding [units qualified for] the semi-finals, including India although they lost in the semis,” Wasim Akram was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.
“Pakistan [will need to] learn to be physically fit and maintain a high fielding standard like all other sides. If India and Bangladesh could improve their fielding, [then] we can as well,” Akram concluded.
