England has been playing some top-notch cricket so far on their tour to India. In the first Test, Joe Root and co. have done really well in all three aspects of the game, batting, bowling, and fielding. On day three, the England team bowled and fielded superbly to take the control of the match. On day four, Ben Stokes took a fantastic catch to wrap up India’s first innings.
As day four started, India was under a little bit of pressure having lost six wickets overnight. With more than 200 runs of first-innings lead, England took four wickets in the first session of the fourth day. Jasprit Bumrah was the last man to be dismissed off the bowling of James Anderson.
Bumrah trying to bat out the over, tried to defend on a ball just outside the off stump line. He could only manage to edge it to the slips cordon. Ben Stokes, who was standing in the first slip position, leaned to his right and grabbed a superb one-handed catch to dismiss Bumrah. With that, India’s first innings folded for 337, with England taking a record first-innings lead of 241 runs.

Washington Sundar stayed unbeaten with the final wicket falling. He was batting on 85 runs and had batted beautifully until then. He was looking set to get his first Test century at his home ground, but unfortunately, Jasprit’s dismissal didn’t allow that to happen. As soon as the moment happened, everyone started praising Stokes for the catch and talked about his all-round ability. The left-handed batsman had also scored 82 runs in the first innings.
England’s fielding has been really good in this match in Chennai. On day three, skipper Joe Root took a magnificent one-handed catch at covers to dismiss Ajinkya Rahane. Shubman Gill had also fallen to a brilliant catch by James Anderson at mid-on.
At the time of writing this, England were in a spot of bother with the score hanging at 83 for 4. They decided against asking India to follow-on and batted again.
