India youngster Rishabh Pant is fast making a name for himself with his hilarious antics from behind the stumps. While Pant has been garnering praise from all over for his performance with the bat and wicketkeeping gloves in recent times, he is also becoming a fan favourite with his funny comments from behind the stumps.
Pant has left the cricket fraternity in splits on several occasions with his consistent chatter on the field. The chatter is only increasing with each passing day. In addition to making the comments and indulging in banter with the opposition players, Pant has also started making loud, high-pitched noises. And he was at it again on Thursday during the first day of the ongoing fourth Test against England.
The incident took place in the 25th over of England’s innings when the 22-year old made the indiscernible noise. It happened when Jonny Bairstow flicked a deliver from Axar Patel towards the leg side. As the batsmen ran across for a quick single, Pant was heard making the hilarious high-pitched noise.
Here is a clip of the incident:

Regular strikes hurt England
Talking about the game, England’s poor batting in the ongoing series has continued in the ongoing Test too. The visitors were on 130 for 5 at the time of compiling this report. England were off to a disastrous start as India reduced them to 30 for 3 inside the first hour of play. Axar Patel struck twice to remove openers Dom Sibley and Zak Crawley before Mohammed Siraj sent back captain Joe Root.
Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow then steadied the ship with a 48-run stand before Siraj dismissed the latter for 28. Stokes went on to complete his second fifty of the series but failed to convert it into a big score. He could add just five runs after reaching his fifty before Washington Sundar dismissed him for 55. Ollie Pope and Daniel Lawrence were fighting it out in the middle at the time of writing this report.
India have already taken an unassailable lead in the four-match series after winning the second and third Test. The hosts could wrap up the series even if they draw the ongoing Test. It will also see India seal a place in the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
