India Women sealed the 3-match ODI series against South Africa Women with their second straight win in Vadodara. Laura Wolvaardt’s 69-run knock set the base for the visitors to post 247/6 in their 50 overs. India lost their 2nd wicket in the 13th over but had 66 runs on the board thanks to 22 wides. Mithali Raj (66) and Punam Raut (65) shared 129 for the 3rd wicket in 26.5 overs. Both got out in space of four balls but Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten 27-ball 39 took India past the winning coast.

248 – The 248-run chase by India Women in this game is their biggest successful ODI chase. Their previous biggest run-chase in ODIs was 245 also against South Africa Women in 2017. The chases of 248 and 245 by India are also the highest successful ODI chases by any team against South Africa Women.

2016 – Mithali completed 2000 runs in successful ODI chases; the first woman to this milestone. She went past Meg Lanning (1962) during her innings of 66 on Friday. Mithali scored 2016 runs in 51 successful ODI chases at an average of 112 with help of 16 fifties and a ton. As many as 45 players scored 2000+ runs during successful ODI chases in Men’s cricket but only MS Dhoni (102.71) has an average of 100.
