India Women completed a series whitewash over South Africa as they won the last game of the 3-match ODI series by six runs. India Women were reduced to 71/6 by 30th over after electing to bat first. Contributions from Harmanpreet Kaur (38) and Shikha Pandey (35) helped India finish on 146.
Indian spinners kept taking wickets but Marizanne Kapp (29) and Sune Luus (24) tried to sneak a win. The lower-order resistance finally came to an end in 48th over when they were seven runs away from the target.

2016 – The is India Women’s first ODI series whitewash against South Africa Women. Their last ODI series clean sweep was back in 2016 during the home series against West Indies. Last time South Africa Women got whitewashed in an ODI series was back in 2011 at home against England.
2 – Only the 2nd time since the start of 2018 that the India Women won the last match of an ODI series. In this period, India Women took 2-0 lead before the 3rd match in five series but ended up losing the last match on four occasions.

100 – Mithali Raj became only the 2nd captain to complete 100 wins in Women’s International cricket. Charlotte Edwards led the England Women’s team to 142 victories across all formats of International cricket.
12 – As many as 12 bowlers picked up at least one wicket in this match; six for South Africa and six for India. This is the joint-highest number of players taking a wicket in a Women’s ODI game.
2006 Ireland-India ODI in Dublin, 2008 Australia-England in Sydney and 2008 SL-WI ODI in Colombo are the other instances of 12 different players taking a wicket in a Women’s ODI.

A rare wicket for the opener:
2 – Jemimah Rodrigues became only the 2nd Indian Woman to finish off an ODI by taking the last wicket in the only over bowled. Hemalata Kala took the last wicket off only the 2nd ball she bowled in the 2006 Dublin ODI against Ireland.
2 – Rodrigues is also only the 2nd Indian opener since 2007 to take a wicket in a Women’s ODI. Deepti Sharma took at least one wicket in 8 ODIs between 2016 and 2017 when she opened the innings. The wicket of Tumi Sekhukhune is first in International cricket for Jemimah.
