The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is currently underway and every team have played eight matches each. From nail-biting finishes to one-sided affairs, the tournament has been a witness to games of various natures. For the time being, Mumbai Indians (MI, led by Rohit Sharma, are at the top of the points table with 12 points courtesy of six wins.
They are also on a five-match winning streak after last beating the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday, October 16, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Delhi Capitals (DC) also have the same number of points as that of MI, but the latter are the table-toppers based on a superior net run rate of +1.353. The Capitals, captained by Shreyas Iyer, haven’t been lacklustre either.
They started with a close contest against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Dubai where the match went into the Super Over. To their luck, they won the game after Kagiso Rabada’s heroics. From there on, they have mostly been clinical. In their third game, they lost to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 15 runs after which MI defeated them by five wickets in Abu Dhabi.
However, they came back with a 13-run victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Over the last few matches, DC and MI have interchanged the top position on quite a few instances. It can very well be said that the two teams have been a class apart from the other six participants in the T20 league.
Aakash Chopra picks his IPL finalists
In the meantime, Aakash Chopra reckons that MI and DC are set to be the finalists in the ongoing tournament. Only at the halfway mark of the T20 event, Chopra feels that the two teams are the strongest contenders to make the final. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Can we have #MI vs #DelhiCapitals finals already? #IPL2020.”

However, former Australian cricketer Tom Moody had a hilariously reply to the message. As per the veteran, Chopra’s prediction could turn out to be a cause of embarrassment. He replied to Chopra and wrote, “What you don’t see that banana skin? #IPL.”
Here’s Moody’s reply:
What you don’t see that banana skin? 🍌 #IPL
